Action Water Sports, located in Incline Village, offers historic Lake Tahoe tours, with an adventurous twist. Thunderbird Lodge
The historic Thunderbird Lodge offers tours of the estate, as well as tours of Lake Tahoe aboard the Thunderbird Yacht. Built in 1936, the lodge has a lighthouse room, servants’ quarters, gaming room and a 600-foot underground tunnel that leads to the boathouse, where the Thunderbird Yacht, the most valuable wooden yacht in the world, is housed.
If you are up for a day of adventure, check out the Tahoe Adventure Company Paddle tour. This kayaking trip will start you at Sand Harbor State Park, where you will paddle an easy 1.5 miles along Lake Tahoe’s magnificent shoreline ending at the Thunderbird Lodge. This tour includes lunch on the beach and a fully guided tour through the Whittell estate.
Tahoe Gal – North Tahoe Cruises
Cruise around Lake Tahoe on this historic, 120-passenger paddle wheeler. The Tahoe Gal departs daily from Tahoe City, and takes guests to sites like Ehrman Mansion and Vikingsholm Castle. This is a great opportunity to experience the lake while also learning about the unique history of the area.
