The Foodie's Trip Itinerary

Bring Your Appetite

We all have to eat, but when you travel, you aim to find the best restaurants and tastiest hidden gems. You want to eat at all the favorite local haunts, get the inside scoop on those secret menus and discover new flavors. You’re hungry and Reno Tahoe is here to satisfy your appetite.

Day 1: Top 100 Eats and Lots of Sweet Treats

Good morning, food lovers! Start the day at the Shore Room where you can enjoy brunch with a view of the Truckee River. Their house-made brioche french toast is a delightfully sweet way to start your day of dining, and you know you want to order their bottomless mimosas or cappuccinos. Walk along the Riverwalk and stop at Dorinda’s Chocolates to sample homemade sweet chocolate treats you’ll need to take home (if they make it home). While strolling along the river, you’ll find plenty of photo opportunities at the various murals and sculptures along the way!

Need an afternoon pick-me-up? Stop by Jostella for seasonal drinks made to perfection. Looking for something stronger? Do a bit of bar hopping between the MidTown bars and try their small bites along the way. The Tequila Catador is one of many specialty bars that offers happy hour specials, incredible entrees and desserts.

For dinner, you can’t go wrong with one of the Reno restaurants that made Yelp’s top 100 list. Arario MidTown (#26), R Town Pizza (#64), and La Condesa Eatery (#67) are all solid choices to wrap up your day of food exploration. Each restaurant promises a delectable meal and a unique culinary journey that reflects Reno’s diverse and thriving food scene, from Korean to pizza and Mexican.

If you still have room, satisfy your sweet tooth at Black Rock Desserts. Discover some of the most out-of-this-world ice cream creations, from the Chango Loco to the Cereal Chiller; you can’t go wrong with these sweet treats!

Day 2: The Ultimate Blend of Food, Shopping and Entertainment

Start your day at the Village at Rancharrah, a charming oasis filled with dining, shopping and wellness options, all set against the gorgeous backdrop of the Sierra Nevada. Still full from yesterday? No problem! Get your green juice and Acai Bowl from Nekter Juice Bar or fresh brew and pastry from Perenn Bakery. This is a great place to take your food to go and stroll through the locally-owned shops or enjoy your food in their cozy, parklike outdoor space.

If you can’t make up your mind for lunch, Reno Public Market is the ideal stop. With its food hall-style setup, you can choose from anything from ramen to ceviche and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, your biggest challenge will be deciding where to start. We all deserve a little afternoon sweet treat, and a little sugar rush from Num Num Boba’s selection of boba, soft-serve ice cream and waffles will keep you going until dinner.

Dim Sum from Dumpling Queen is the perfect option for dinner. The food truck is a converted Airstream Trailwind and makes its home on the patio at Abby’s Highway 40. While Chinese food and a classic dive bar might not be your typical pairing, we promise that the food and atmosphere will win you over! Everything on the menu is amazing, but you shouldn’t leave without trying the xiao long bao dumplings and char siu bao buns.
