Rest and relaxation
Once you land in Reno, you're only minutes from adventure, whether that means grabbing lunch or jumping on a mountain bike. But first, let's drop off those bags and settle into your home-away-from-home at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. This resort has something for everyone, from a variety of dining options, an award-winning spa and of course, exciting gaming. With shuttles running every 30 minutes, it's a short trip to and from the airport.

Monkey see, monkey do
Hiking trails abound in Reno and Lake Tahoe. You can find a mellow stroll to get your blood flowing after your flight, or challenge yourself to find the best views in the Sierra Nevada. A favorite local hike that perfectly blends both of those qualities is the trail to Monkey Rock. You'll find parking near Tunnel Creek Cafe and embark on a short but elevation-gaining march up to the famous monkey. Yes, you read that right - there is a rock that looks eerily like a large primate. Along the way you'll be treated to views of Lake Tahoe's aquamarine shoreline and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Inhale the scent of the pines and settle into a mountain state of mind.

Lunch with a side of sunshine
Spring and early summer in Reno Tahoe is the best time to get outside for, well, anything. Around here, we really do find any excuse to get outdoors once the days start to get longer and The Eddy is one of the best spots to hang out once the mercury starts to linger around 70. This open-air container park is located along the Truckee River and is home to a food truck, art, yard games, lounge areas and multiple bars serving local beer, wine and cocktails. A family-friendly and dog-friendly hangout, this is a must-do on a nice day.

Dive right in
Escape the hustle and feast your eyes on endless views of crystal clear water as you stretch out on the beach and enjoy a swim in Lake Tahoe. Your nonstop flight got you here in time to pack in plenty of activities, and that refreshing water is sure to chase off any lingering jet lag. The shoreline is peppered with secluded beaches where you can bask in the sun or dive off one of the many granite boulders Tahoe is famous for. A sure bet for lake vibes with plenty of amenities is Sand Harbor State Park. Reserve your spot ahead of time so you can take advantage of parking, restrooms and rental equipment.

Satisfy your appetite
The food scene in Reno Tahoe might surprise you. It's as eclectic as the region itself and delivers such a variety of flavors that you'll have to plan another trip just to cross everything off your list. A favorite among locals and visitors alike is 999 Pho. Yes, you might think of a warm bowl of pho on a cold winter day, but their menu goes beyond flavorful broth. Try their spring rolls or bahn mi sandwiches, which pair perfectly with their Vietnamese coffee.

Try your luck
It's not a trip to Reno without some time on the casino floor. Each of our casino resorts has plenty of gaming options, whether you're in the mood for slots, you want to test out your poker face or roll the dice at the craps table. If your group is looking for great variety beyond the casino games, head to Peppermill Resort, where you can check out live music at the Terrace Lounge or gather around an oversized cocktail at the Fireside Lounge, a true Reno classic.
