Royal Treatment
There’s no need to skimp on amenities when you and your dog travel to Reno. Downtown hotels such as Renaissance Reno Downtown offer not only pet-friendly rooms but dining options as well. At The Shore Room, with its outdoor patio overlooking the Truckee River, you and your pup can enjoy the fresh air, amazing views and great food. Navigating a new city with your dog doesn’t have to be challenging. The Renaissance Reno Downtown is conveniently located along the Riverwalk, giving you easy access to the Truckee River, parks and other dog-friendly spots such as The Eddy and Wild River Grille.
Life is better off-leash
No matter which direction you head from downtown Reno, miles of trails are waiting to be explored. From wide-open desert spaces to hikes through the trees, there is no shortage of options when it comes to exploring the outdoors. Mt. Rose trail is a popular destination and it’s easy to see why, with its meadows, waterfalls and views of Lake Tahoe, Washoe Valley and Reno. Just west of Mt. Rose trail is Tahoe Meadows, where trails take you through the meadow and into the pine trees, with plenty of opportunities to find views overlooking Lake Tahoe. Most trails in Reno Tahoe are dog-friendly, and many allow well-behaved dogs off-leash.
Doggie Paddle
Inspired to re-create an image of you and your pup cruising the waters of Lake Tahoe on a stand-up paddleboard? If your dog loves the water, then this is a must-do. Start practicing your balancing skills!
